ASTRA Club

ASTRA Club is an international service project of Altrusa International. Members will serve the community and school every month through projects adopted by the club.

 

Beta Club

Beta Club promotes ideals of character, leadership, service, and good citizenship while encouraging students to continue their education after high school. Members must be in 10-12th grade with a minimum 4.0 GPA.

 

Black Student Union

The Black Student Union at TL Hanna High School aims to educate, celebrate, and represent the black experience and diaspora via community outreach, volunteering, and event planning. One major purpose of the group is to encourage diversity and the celebration of different cultures.  Advocating for community outreach in predominant areas of people of color is another focus. The BSU members will also provide examples of unity and be positive examples of leadership to students of color.

Deca is an international organization that prepares students for leadership roles in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.

Through DECA, students can build leadership skills, communicate with peers and industry leaders. Students will partake in competitions, develop business plans, and lead community projects. DECA would be an amazing opportunity for anybody interested in aplying their skills to finding real world solutions.

Garden Club educates students on how to identify and care for different species of plants. Our proposed project is landscaping the courtyard. We hope to plant and maintain a variety of plants, flowers, and trees, as well as educate others about the various types of plant life and ecosystems with educational placards. Members need to be dedicated and hard-working.

 

Girls Who Code

The Girls Who Code Club is a community where students with a passion for technology and coding come together to learn, collaborate, and explore the world of computer science. Our goal is to create an inclusive space that encourages and supports young women in pursuing careers in technology.

"Jackets United" is a unique and inclusive club on our campus that brings students with disabilities and non-disabled students together to foster inclusivity, support, and empowerment for students with disabilities. Our mission is to create a welcoming and inclusive community where students of all abilities can come together, learn from each other, and advocate for one another.  The club's primary mission is to serve coffee and build connections among students and staff while promoting an environment of inclusivity and collaboration.

This community service organization is associated with Kiwanis Clubs International. Members raise money for philanthropic causes and collect toys and food for families in need. They also coordinate our school recycling program and complete service hours each year.

 

Medical Ethics Discussion (MED club)

Medical Ethics Discussion Club: Students will get together monthly to have academic and engaging discussions about the ethical decisions that medical professionals often face.  These student-lead meetings provide a forum for students to express their views and at the same time prepare members for the ethical challenges they will face in practicing in the medical field.

 

Mock Trial Team

Members will serve as attorneys and witnesses in the trial of a fictitious case. The team will compete against students from other schools in the regional competition in February and have the opportunity to advance to the state championship in March.

 

Mu Alpha Theta

Mu Alpha Theta promotes scholarship in mathematics, establishing math as an integral part of high school and junior college education. Members are juniors and seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA in math (4.0 scale). Members complete 10 hours of tutoring and attend the annual induction ceremony.

 

National Art Honor Society

NAHS is a nation-wide program for students interested in the visual arts. Members volunteer in the annual NAHS Art Exhibition and collect art supplies for charity.

 

National Honor Society

Members exhibit qualities of leadership, scholarship, service, and character. Upperclassmen with a minimum 4.5 GPA and no OSS or full day of ISS the previous school year are eligible to be invited, and invitations are emailed in September. Members must complete service hours.
